Masjid Nasional Uganda

The Uganda National Mosque is a mosque located at Kampala Hill in the Old Kampala area of Kampala, Uganda. Completed in 2006, it seats up to 15,000 worshipers and can hold another 1,100 in the gallery, while the terrace will cater for another 3,500.

Colonel Muammar Gaddafi of Libya commissioned the mosque as a gift to Uganda, and for the benefit of the Muslim population. Uganda has many mosques but this one is a skyscraper mosque.

Masjid Jami Mahdiya

The Great Mosque of Mahdiya is a mosque that was built in the tenth century in Mahdia, Tunisia.

Located on the southern side of the peninsula on which the old city was located, the mosque was built in 916 CE (303-304 in the Islamic calendar), after the founding of the city within the walls built by the Caliphate on an artificial platform "reclaimed from the sea" as mentioned by the Andalusian geographer Al-Bakri. The other buildings erected nearby at that time have since disappeared.

Masjid Uqba

The Great Mosque of Kairouan also known as the Mosque of Uqba is one of the most important mosques in Tunisia, situated in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Kairouan.

Established by the Arab general Uqba ibn Nafi in 670 AD (the year 50 according to the Islamic calendar) at the founding of the city of Kairouan, the mosque is spread over a surface area of 9,000 square metres and it is one of the oldest places of worship in the Islamic world, as well as a model for all later mosques in the Maghreb.

Ez-Zitouna Mosque or Ezzitouna Mosque or Mosque of El-Zituna, literally meaning the Mosque of Olive) is a major mosque in Tunis, Tunisia.

The mosque is the oldest in the Capital of Tunisia and covers an area of 5,000 square metres (1.2 acres) with nine entrances.[1] It has 160 authentic columns brought originally from the ruins of the old city of Carthage.

Masjid Kizimkazi

The Kizimkazi Mosque is a mosque situated on the southern tip of the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania and is one of the oldest Islamic buildings on the East African coast.

Despite its name, it is located in Dimbani, not Kizimkazi, which is three miles away (this is because the official names of these two joined villages are Kizimkazi Dimbani and Kizimkazi Mtendeni).

Masjid Gaddafi

National Mosque is the largest mosque in Tanzania and the second largest in East Africa after the Gaddafi National Mosque in Uganda. It is located in the Tanzanian capital of Dodoma.

It was named after the former Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi who provided the funds for its construction via the World Islamic Call Society. The mosque was inaugurated by President Jakaya Kikwete in 2010 and has a capacity for at least 3,000 worshippers.

Masjid Jami Kano

The great mosque was built for Muhammad Rumfa in the 15th century. It was made of mud, and was of the soro, or tower, variety. It was moved to a new site by Muhammad Zaki in 1582, and rebuilt in the mid 19th century by Abdullahi dan Dabo. It was destroyed in the 1950s, and rebuilt with British sponsorship.

Imāmzādeh Hamzah (Persian: امامزاده سيد حمزه‎‎) is an Imamzadeh mosque complex in Tabrīz, Iran. The mosque contains the grave of Hamzah, son of the Twelver Shī‘ah Imām, Mūsā' al-Kādhim.

The Imāmzādeh Hamzah mosque is located in the sheshghelan suburb of Tabrīz next to Maqbaratoshoara and the Museum of Ostad Bohtouni. It is also near Amir Nezam House, House of Seghat ol Islam and Saheb ol Amr Mosque.

Masjid Blue

The Blue Mosque (Azerbaijani: Göy məscid; Persian: مسجد کبود‎‎ - Masjed-e Kabūd) is a famous historic mosque in Tabriz, Iran. The mosque and some other public buildings were constructed in 1465 upon the order of Jahan Shah, the ruler of Kara Koyunlu.

The mosque was severely damaged in an earthquake in 1779, leaving only the iwan (entrance hall). Reconstruction began in 1973 by the late Reza Memaran Benam under the supervision of Iranian Ministry of Culture. However, it is still incomplete.
