Sidi Yahya is a mosque and madrassa of Timbuktu in Mali which finished construction in 1440. Sidi Yahya along with Djinguereber and Sankore compose the "University" of Timbuktu. Sidi Yahya's mausoleum was destroyed on 2 July 2012 following the Battle of Gao and Timbuktu.

Mosque Saudique is a mosque in Nouakchott, Mauritania. It is located southwest of the Presidential Palace and immediately west of the Chamber of Commerce. The mosque was built by Saudi money.
For several decades, Bouddah Ould Bousseyri had been imam of the Saudi Mosque, he was a close associate of the Mauritanian regime and a supporter of Wahhabi Islam and a very influential figure in the apolitical Islamist camp. The current imam, Ahmedou Ould Lemrabet, is a thinker of politicised salafism and a supporter of state authority.

This great mosque was designed by Gudo Ferrazza in a blend of the architectural styles of Rationalist, Classical, and Islamic. The minaret at its end, fluted and of Roman design, is visible from all parts of the city. It has two platforms and two balconies of the Italian rococo or late baroque style.
